Happy Monday Morning! Consumer prices eased in October, clocking in at 3.1% year-over-year, and down from 3.8% last month. This is welcome news for mortgage holders sweating over upcoming mortgage renewals. For Bank of Canada watchers, the BoC’s closely watched 3 month average core inflation measure dropped to 2.95%. We are getting close.
What happens with the GST if a new unit is converted from short-term to long-term? Since GST was originally paid on the new unit, can they charge GST twice on the same property?
It's my understanding the STR policy changes were based on a report funded by the hotel lobby. Running an AirBnB gives one a small sniff of the money corporate multinational hotels are making. Any how much of this money stays in the community?
"According to Altus Group, the construction industry has shed about 37,000 jobs, year-to-date through August" We have a company that is involved in the communications construction industry. Last year at this time we could not hire....got very few qualified applicants for job postings. This year we have over two hundred applicants to a job posting. Seems to agree with the Altus report. Things are indeed getting tight.
