What happens with the GST if a new unit is converted from short-term to long-term? Since GST was originally paid on the new unit, can they charge GST twice on the same property?

It's my understanding the STR policy changes were based on a report funded by the hotel lobby. Running an AirBnB gives one a small sniff of the money corporate multinational hotels are making. Any how much of this money stays in the community?
