In Ontario I still fell like the Fed’s are bailing out the province for Bill 23, which cut municipal development fees. It doesn’t feel like we’ll be any further ahead. What really irks me is I’m sure this infrastructure money will somehow make it to developments that benefit the same landowners/developers that are marred in scandal surrounding MZOs, Greenbelt removals, Official Plan approvals. Meanwhile existing infrastructure/community services in dire need of funding for capital upgrades/asset management will probably struggle.
