We are generally looking at a stable population or very minor growth at best. Considering most new projects have a 5year window from start to finish there is an argument to be made that we are overbuilding. Projects presently half completed have to move forward but they were based on continuing high demand from unprecedented high immigration numbers.

BC in the first six months of 2025 actually had a slight population reduction. Demand is not only a function of population but also income for that population and GDP per capita in Canada might well be on the decline if Trump has his way with tariffs. I suspect things will get a little worse over the next decade.
